A Braves Fan Died After Falling From The Upper Deck Of Turner Field

During the seventh inning of the Yankees/Braves game on Saturday night, a man fell from the upper deck and was later pronounced dead at Grady Memorial Hospital. The man was identified as 60-year-old Gregory Murrey of Alpharetta, Ga.

Witnesses say that Murrey fell when he stood up to boo Alex Rodriguez after he was announced at the plate in the seventh inning. He fell from Section 402, which is at the very top of Turner Field, and directly behind home plate.

The total height of the fall was estimated at 85 feet. Witnesses also claimed that Murrey was drunk throughout the whole game.

The game was not stopped during the whole incident, and the Yankees would go on to win, 3-1.

This becomes the second death of a fan at Turner Field in the past three years. Back in 2013, a man fell from the 400 section of the stadium as well, but the death was later ruled a suicide.
