On Sunday night, the Packers got revenge from the Seahawks for their NFC Championship Game collapse a year ago, and after the game, Aaron Rodgers took a subtle shot at Russell Wilson.
When asked about what the Packers did this time around to come out on top, 27-17, Rodgers gave all the credit to God:
“I get it all from God. I think God was a Packers fan tonight, so he was taking care of us.”
This, of course, is in response to all of Wilson’s comments in the past year or so about how he felt like God played a huge part in deciding outcomes of games.
Just moments following the Seahawks’ NFC Championship game win, Wilson went on the record to credit God for the improbable comeback:
“That’s God setting it up, to make it so dramatic, so rewarding, so special,”
Rodgers would respond to that comment with this:
“I don’t think God cares a whole lot about the outcome. He cares about the people involved, but I don’t think he’s a big football fan.”
Now, Rodgers has the last laugh.
