A’s Minor League Pitcher Is The Victim Of A Drive-By Shooting

Mike Nolan, pitcher for the Oakland Athletics’ Rookie league team was involved in a drive-by shooting taking place early friday morning in Yonkers, NY.

The incident occurred while the 23-year-old and a group of friends were standing outside of Nolan’s vehicle while at a local Burger King when an unidentified suspect opened fire while driving on a service road.  Five to six shots were fired in total, two of which hit Nolan in the head and torso.

As of right now, the shooter is still at large and Nolan is still in critical condition.  The Yonkers Police Department believe that the pitcher was an innocent victim and that he might have had an earlier dispute with the shooter.

Nolan was selected in the 18th round of 2014’s MLB Draft by the Oakland A’s and was placed on their Arizona rookie team.  He has not yet officially pitched in a minor league game.
