High School Football Players Target A Defenseless Referee During A Play

The disturbing video you’re about to see took place on Friday night a Texas high school football game between Marble Falls and San Antonio John Jay.

John Jay lost the game, 15-9, but during this play, two players from Jay on defense can be seen taking out the umpire, who had no idea what was coming.

The safety goes up and smacks the umpire from behind, before the other safety comes in head first to spike him while he was on the ground. Both players were ejected.

Northside ISD athletic director Stan Laing said the video was “very disturbing.” Officials, as well as the district, are looking into what the cause of this could be, as no noticeable bad call took place in the game prior to the incident.
