On This Day 6 Years Ago, LeGarrette Blount Sucker Punched Some Boise State Player After An Oregon Loss

The legend of LeGarrette Blount started back on September 4, 2009, when, as a running back for the University of Oregon, became suspended for the rest of the season after sucker punching Boise State defensive lineman Byron Hout following a loss. The moment was captured on ESPN, and took place after the Broncos had defeated the Ducks in a Thursday night primetime showdown.

Then-head coach Chip Kelly, however, decided to reinstate Blount in November and the rest became history. He would then go on to become a Super Bowl winning running back with the Patriots, along with stops in Tampa and Pittsburgh.

But his punch will still live one.
