Red Sox manager John Farrell revealed on Friday that he will take a medical leave for the rest of the season, after being diagnosed with Lymphoma.

Farrell said that the cancer was discovered when he had hernia surgery in Detroit earlier this week. The cancer is also expected to be highly curable.
Bench coach Torey Lovullo will run the team now, and Farrell is expected to be back for spring training next year.
